We made a happy discovery—a working doorbell. I was entering the side door and noticed the beautiful metalwork of the doorbell backplate. I pushed the button not expecting a noise, but to my surprise a grating buzz filled the air. Emma had to try it too. Buuuuzzz! We showed all the workers and friends who were there to visit. It’s an obnoxious ring, but it’s a working doorbell! I’d love to replace the buzzing sound with something worthy of a castle like the chimes found here. It would be nice to have two different rings –one for the side door and one for the main door. Here’s a picture of the backplate and a video of our first discovery of the working doorbell.
